Title: The Other Empty Tomb
Text: John 11:1-46
Topic: Belief That Compels Us to Take Away the Stone
Teacher: David Gooding
When we believe something, it should impact the way we live. If our actions don’t align with the things we say we believe, it demands the question: “Do we really believe what we say we believe?”
When Lazarus died, Martha said she believed that if Jesus had been there, He could have done something for her brother before he died. Jesus’ responds with the statement, “I am the resurrection and the life…” and then asks Mary if she believes this.
She responds by saying, “Yes Lord, I believe…” But her actions later in the chapter reveal a disconnect.
Do your actions line up with what you say you believe?
