Building Purchase: Loan Closing is Monday
This is an update on the progress of the building purchase. We are scheduled to close on the loan Monday, August 31 at 4:00pm. So, the Roy’s Furniture building and property will be ours and an exciting transition time begins!
I want to ask everyone to commit to praying daily for the next phase in the transition and that this step for The Bridge would be one that unifies and strengthens our community. Please pray that our collective imagination would be open to how God wants to use this space to extend his love for people in Hardin County.
As you may know from the announcements at worship the past few Sundays and from the letter I sent earlier in the month, we are trying to organize a few “oversight” groups. We feel like the following teams will be critical in this transitional time:
- Construction Management
- Financial Oversight
- Planning and Design Oversight
If you have not filled out one of the response cards, indicating how you can help in the coming months, please click here and fill out the online response form.
We will be organizing the various teams next week and getting started right away! So, please, if you’d like to volunteer, do so now!
Update on Property Leasing
One of the unique opportunities we have with this property is to lease out excess space as a way of funding our ministry goals. We have good news! Hardin County Habitat for Humanity met with their board of directors this past Monday and they have agreed to lease space in the back of the main building!
In the picture, you can see a section in the back right of the building that has a dock door. This is the space where Habitat will be putting it’s “Re-Store,” a retail space where the public can buy discounted construction supplies and help support the work of Habitat. Exciting stuff and a great partnership for The Bridge!
We still have the entire warehouse that stands alone in the back of the property to lease. This is a nice, 8,400 square feet warehouse with a dock door and we’d love to find a business or individual who could use this space.
Then, we also have space in the main building behind the space we’ll be using for ministry (separated by a fire-wall). This is a marketable space for office use, retail, or day-care.
So, help us spread the word! If you know anyone looking for space for these kinds of business uses, let them know and let us know. Thanks!
